Alyssia Graves

Since the age of eight years old, Alyssia knew she wanted to work in sports. Her love for sports, especially football, drove her decision to attend The Ohio State University to cover one of the top football programs in the nation.

In 2017 Alyssia was a sports intern for Spectrum Sports Ohio, assisting in the coverage of college and professional sports in the state of Ohio. In August 2017, she became the Assistant Sports Director for Lantern TV, the Ohio State student television station. Alyssia traveled the country filming Ohio State sporting events and interviewed some of the top college athletes and coaches in the nation.

Alyssia juggled covering Ohio State football and basketball games including the 2017 Big Ten Championship, Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament, and the Cotton Bowl Classic while producing, writing, and editing all of the sports content for the television station. She also assisted in the management of social media content distribution to a following of over 50,000 people.

In May 2018, Alyssia received her bachelor’s degree in public affairs journalism with a minor in media, production, and analysis. That summer she became a community relations intern for the 3x WNBA Champions, the Los Angeles Sparks. At the Sparks, Alyssia planned a series of empowerment workshops for at-risk children and families in the Los Angeles area. Alyssia also facilitated a t-shirt pop-up shop at Sparks home games that benefitted the Summer Design House project; a redecoration project that provided a home to 16 former foster youth.

In the spring of 2019, Alyssia was a production intern for Good Morning Football, a live NFL television program on NFL Network. At NFL Network, she cut highlights and features of NFL players and teams that are featured in the weekly broadcast. Additionally, she researched new content and assisted in developing show material and segments.

In November of 2019, Alyssia became a freelance Content Producer and Editor at NBC Sports Washington. There, she assisted in the production of live shows on NBC Sports Washington. She cut videos of D.C. and Baltimore sports teams to be used in daily broadcasts and also edited clips from daily broadcasts to be shared on digital and social platforms.

Then, in March of 2020 during a time when Alyssia lost her job due to the pandemic, she found herself redirecting her energy into uplifting and empowering others through her passion for sports. In September of 2020, she became the co-host of Throwing Shades, the GALvanize flagship podcast. In this podcast, she dives deep into the difficult conversations the sports industry must continue to have. Throwing Shades is about having honest, thoughtful, and diversely represented conversations highlighting the humanity of sports and the industry.

In the summer of 2021, Alyssia was presented with the opportunity to be the Digital Host for the inaugural Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse Season. In this role she interviewed players pre and post-game to be shared across the Athletes Unlimited social platforms as well as shared live recaps, updates and highlights to Athletes Unlimited fans as the weekly draft unfolded. Additionally, she assisted in the distribution of social content during game days.

In the summer of 2022, Alyssia became a Digital Host for the Premier Lacrosse League where she interviewed coaches and players on and off the field including the Tribeca Film Festival, All-Star Competition and the 2022 ESPN College Draft. In addition to post-game interviews, she produced, edited, and hosted weekly game recaps to provide fans with inside access to players and interviews. She also was a part of history when she was the first to interview the first Black MVP in Field Lacrosse History.

In the summer of 2023, Alyssia got to fulfill a dream of working as an On-Air Personality for the Philadelphia Eagles-the team she bonded with her dad over and formed her love of sports. In this role she combined her dedication to community and philanthropy with storytelling. She interviewed players to showcase efforts to give back and make an impact in the local Philadelphia community. Additionally she wrote and produced packages that were distributed across social channels, philadelphiaeagles.com and to corporate partners.

Alyssia currently serves as an In-Game & Social Host for the Baltimore Orioles. As an on-camera personality at Camden Yards, she delivers live, interactive entertainment bringing storylines to life both on and off the field.

In addition to in-game hosting, she represents the Orioles across social and digital platforms through stand-up reporting, interviews, and community coverage.

These experiences have provided Alyssia with in-depth knowledge of reporting, live studio production, game coverage and digital media.

The best part about sports media for Alyssia is the opportunity to tell stories in an innovative way. She enjoys not only informing viewers about sports, but going deeper into the storylines of athletes and giving viewers a new perspective that is original and entertaining.

Alyssia has the ability to work in all aspects of sports including, videography, reporting, editing, social media and production. Her experience has prepared her to work in any high-pressure fast-paced media environment.
